The Mathews Little League Juniors softball team won the Virginia Little League District 15 championship Monday night, defeating Westmoreland County, 10-8, in the final game. They will advance to the Virginia Little League State Championship in Alexandria on June 26. The team is fundraising to support its trip to states. Its first fundraiser will be held from 4-7 o’clock tonight at the Howard-Dooley Café.
