Dishman commits to Methodist University softball program

Gloucester High School senior Alexis Dishman has committed to playing softball collegiately at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Dishman, an outfielder, has helped her team win back-to-back district and regional titles and even reached the state semifinals last season. She has twice been named to all-district and all-region teams. As a junior, Dishman hit a .333 with 27 RBIs, while scoring 24 runs.
“Coach [Jason] Burns and I are so excited for Alexis and her future at Methodist,” said GHS head softball coach David “Red” Lindsay. “We are all looking forward to her final year of high school softball and reaching all of our team goals.”
“I’m really excited about our upcoming season and the years to come at Methodist,” said Dishman. “I think Methodist is a great fit for me with academics, nursing and softball.”
Methodist is a Division III school and plays in the USA South Conference. The Monarchs are coached by Alexis Allaman....
