Dia Lawless of Mathews has been appointed the general manager of Flat Iron Crossroads, an entertainment venue in Gloucester established last year by Ray Friend of Ware Neck.
Lawless will be in charge of overseeing all activities at Flat Iron, from booking artists to coordinating the volunteers who provide assistance and developing standard operating procedures for all aspects of the business.
“There are a lot of different committees performing different duties,” she said. “I have to make sure balls don’t get dropped.”
With a primary role of creating an experience for both the artists who perform at Flat Iron and the music lovers who attend concerts there, Lawless plans to further develop the venue’s repertoire of national and local artists in order to make it a place where people enjoy returning again and again.
