A memorial service for Dennis Ray Kidwell, 61, of Bohannon, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Bohannon. He died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012.

Mr. Kidwell was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the DAV of Gloucester. He had been a resident of Mathews County for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Kidwell; two sons, Joseph Kidwell of Maryland and Ian Averbuck of Vermont; a daughter, Jeannie Kidwell of Gainesville, Va.; three sisters, Deane Gallagher, Denise Rhodes and Dana Wells; a brother, Duane Kidwell, and eight grandchildren.

A reception will follow the service at the church.
