Deltas bitten by River Dogs, look to rebound this weekend

A hard-hitting Richmond River Dogs team used a pair of pair of home runs, including a fourth inning grand slam, for a decisive victory on Saturday, defeating the Deltaville Deltas, 14-3.
In an offensive display not often seen by opponents, the River Dogs plated three runs in the second, five runs in the third, and four more in the fourth inning to jump out to a 12-0 early lead. Eleven hits and nine walks issued by Deltas pitching were the downfall for Deltaville.
Deltaville’s offense swung the bat well in later innings, mustering their three runs on RBI hits from Creston Saunders, Scott Crump, and Benny Walker.
Starting pitcher Eli Pittman was charged with his first loss of the season, allowing seven earned runs over 2 2/3 innings, while Gabe Espiritu allowed four runs.
