Decoy carver to discuss his art at MPFAA lecture

The Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association of Gloucester, a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts community partner, continues the 2025 lecture season with “The Art of Carving and Painting Waterfowl Decoys” next Thursday, Nov. 20, at Arts on Main, 6580 Main Street, Gloucester.
Award winning carver Mike Burnett of Salty Water Decoys in Bena is the speaker. The free-to-the public presentation starts at 7:15 p.m.
Those who would like to have dinner with the association members starting at 5:45 p.m. should email mpfaa1958@gmail.com no later than Sunday, Nov. 16. The cost is $26.
Upcoming lectures presented by the MPFAA (est. 1958) include “Stranger than Fiction: Great Art Heists in History,” “The Amazing Benefits of Art on Aging,” “The Bold and the Beautiful—A Survey of the Neoclassic and Romantic Movements,” and “Taking Tea and Taxes.”
