DEBORAH ‘DEBBIE’ ANN GOLDSMITH SMITH

Deborah “Debbie” Ann Goldsmith Smith, age 68, of Cobbs Creek, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019. 

She was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Nov. 24, 1950. She grew up in Hampton, Virginia. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1975, and worked primarily as a recovery room nurse for Riverside Hospital for many years. 

Debbie was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Kilmarnock. She was also the Virginia State Representative for Kris Kristofferson’s fan club for many years. Debbie was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a “Nana.” She enjoyed taking cruises and camping in the mountains. She was a volunteer for the National Forestry Service under the Cradle of Forestry during the years 2015-2016. She was currently a volunteer for National Park Service. 

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward J. Goldsmith Jr. and Luella Byrd Goldsmith. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Glenn O. Smith Sr.; faithful Yorkie, LuLu; son, Glenn O. Smith Jr. and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Stephanie Smith McBurney; two grandsons, Michael Allen McBurney Jr. and Ryan Smith; three granddaughters, Chelsea Bilderback (Dalton), Amanda Rhodes (Sean), and Alyssa Smith; one great-grandson, Brentley; another great-grandson on the way, and sister, Cathy Marlowe.

Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, 6-8 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 1 o’clock at the funeral home. Entombment followed at Windsor Garden Cemetery, Dutton.
