Bruce Bracken, author of a new mystery “Death on Gwynn’s Island,” will speak at the Mathews Museum, 200 Main Street, at 7 p.m. next Thursday, July 16.
His talk will include a book signing opportunity.
Bracken is emeritus professor of the College of William and Mary and author of both fiction and scholarly works. Gwynn’s Island is the setting of his most recent book.
According to a release, “The mystery unfolds amid storms, watermen, old histories and secrets that refuse to stay buried. A small island. A long memory. A murder that changes everything.” Bracken will share his experiences in writing the novel and his stepping away from academia and pursuing fiction.
His other mysteries are “Invisible” and “The Holidaysburg Christmas Miracle.”...
