Craig on the path to become a Paramedic

“I’ve always enjoyed just helping people, and it’s also kind of a family thing for me, too, so I’ve been around and exposed to it for probably about 12 years now.”
Joshua Craig is a dedicated EMT for Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, as well as Westmore-land County. He is one of the youngest members of the GVFRS and on the path to becoming a Paramedic.
Recently, Craig, 19, completed his Advanced Emergency Medical Technician course and will soon test nationally to become AEMT-certified. He explained the program usually takes about a year and is a step in between EMT Basic, where he currently is, and Paramedic.
Though he has been on the squad for three years, Craig has been around Emergency Medical Services for much longer. With his father, sister and brother all in the EMS field, it is something he has been around most of his life.
