Craft Beer Fest returns to Historic Christ Church

Historic Christ Church & Museum in Weems invites the community to its seventh annual “Raise the Roof” Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 1-6 p.m.

Held on the grounds near the 1735 Christ Church, the popular event features live music, Virginia craft beers, wine, BBQ (and vegetarian fare) with all the fixings, and homemade ice cream.

The jazz/swing band Good Shot Judy and the blues band Bobby “Blackhat” Walters return to entertain the crowd and get everyone dancing, said HCC&M assistant director Paula Stallard.

Guests can enjoy a selection of Virginia craft beers, including four styles from Gloucester Brewing Company, this year’s featured local brewery. Other breweries represented at the event courtesy of Al Pugh Distributing Company include Devils Backbone, New Realm Brewing Company, That Damn Mary, Dividing Creek, and Port City Brewing, which will feature a porter made from grains grown in Northumberland County.
