Courthouse Family Medicine expands staff, office space

Courthouse Family Medicine recently expanded its staff and adding onto its office space in Gloucester’s Edgehill Town Center.

Practice administrator Donna Hayes said the recent addition of nurse practitioners Amanda R. Wingfield and Elise K. Meadows, both of Gloucester, brings the staff to 16. Dr. Joseph Atkins Leming heads the practice, assisted by his wife, Vickie Bell Leming, also a nurse practitioner.

Leming said Courthouse Family Medicine is an independent medical practice, serving mostly teens and adults. They offer wellness checks, treat patients for illnesses and other ailments, and Leming performs some minor in-office surgery.

Having three nurse practitioners on staff allows the practice to treat more patients, Leming said.

Wingfield and Meadows are friends, having previously worked together at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center as registered nurses. Wingfield is originally from Mathews and is a graduate of Mathews High School. She earned a Bachelor of Scie...
