A seven-week course is offered for this region by the Northern Neck Planning District Commission to become a Virginia Certified Ecotour Guide. It was announced by Virginia is for Outdoor Lovers, which said the class focuses on coastal ecotourism including: history and science, interpretation skills, and entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. The virtual course begins April 23 and continues for seven weeks on Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. The fee is $150. The final class will be held in-person on Saturday, June 6, in Onancock.
