County supervisors to meet Tuesday

The Mathews Board of Supervisors will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse.

Under old business, the board will continue discussing a request to allow golf carts on state roads in Dixie Estates.

A visit by Rep. Rob Wittman to honor the late Kevin Mitchem has been postponed by Wittman.

Topics that will be covered under the county administrator’s report include a proposed Hampton Roads Regional Sustainability Consortium, an emergency ordinance regarding the county’s board of equalization, voting credentials for the Virginia Association of Counties’ annual business meeting, and discussion of a possible burn ban.

In addition to regular monthly department reports by the school system, VDOT, the sheriff’s office, and the department of planning and zoning, the board will hear reports from Chuck Walsh with the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board; Jo Ann Wilson-Harfst with Mathews Social Services; and a representative of MetroCa...
