After a successful student trip to Costa Rica this past spring, Mathews High School science teacher Jerry Ligon is planning another trip for next year. He is inviting students in grades 6 through 8 to attend a meeting to learn about the trip at 6:30 tonight, Thursday, Sept. 19 in classroom 225 at Mathews High School (use the gym entrance). Parents must accompany sixth grade students; other parents are welcome, as well. Older students interested in going as chaperones are also invited. The trip is scheduled for the week of Spring Break, which is March 29–April 4. This is not a school-sponsored activity. Shown during the spring 2024 trip are, front row from left, Leah Hyde, Carter Hayes, Bryce Larson, Corey Zheng, Jameson Segalini, Cole Christensen, Elton Hudgins; back row, Amy Ashberry, Dot Howard, Alexis Howard, Diane Howard, Cheryl Ligon, Jerry Ligon, Brock Larson, Derrick Howard and Michael Wiatt. Contact Ligon at jligon@mathews.k12.va.us with questions.
