Community Conservation Day to be held Dec. 6 in Mathews

Residents of Mathews and Middlesex counties are invited to the first Community Conservation Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, hosted by Mathews Land Conservancy at Williams Wharf Landing.
This event is designed to bring together community organizations for residents to learn about local opportunities of outdoor recreation and conservation efforts, a release stated.
“We are proud to host this year’s Community Conservation Day to advance our mission of conservation, environmental stewardship and education,” said MLC board member Stan Grice.
Residents will be able to meet with representatives of the Mathews/Middlesex Master Gardeners, Virginia Department of Forestry, Mathews Outdoors Club, Friends of Dragon Run, Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission, Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association, Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Virginia, Mathews Land Conservancy, and York River Steward.
