Comedy Night

Dukes Touchdown Club Comedy Night was a huge success. Three hundred and fifty attended the event earlier this month at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, raising $12,000 for Gloucester High School athletics. Cori Healy, a Gloucester High School grad, was a special guest. Irwin Loring was the featured comedian, with Kevin Lee—who has been on Showtime at the Apollo and Last Comic Standing—headlining. Coach Tom Holaday of Mathews served as host. Sponsors were Klein Mechanical, Allison Mazucca with Remax, Kyle Bell Homes, Keith Kuehn with Kue Q’s. Harley Barker (left) opened the show playing guitar and singing for an hour. Shannon and Jason Roane organized the event, with Holaday booking the comedians. “This is the fourth comedy show they’ve had and by far the biggest,” Holaday said.
