National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes is Nov. 17-24.
“This is the time when we collect shoeboxes that have been filled with gifts for children in need around the world,” said Amy Ashberry of Mathews, who serves as a Community Relations Coordinator for the program.
“We encourage everyone to pack a shoebox filled with toys, school supplies, and fun items for a child,” she said.
Participants can use any shoebox, with the boxes delivered to children in over 100 countries across the world through Samaritan’s Purse.
Ashberry’s Shoebox Mobile will be stationed at Mathews Baptist Church, 8284 Buckley Hall Road, Hudgins, during the following hours:
Monday from 4-6 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon; Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 20 from 1-3 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 21 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 23 from 1-5 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 24 from 1-5 p.m.
