Speckled trout seems to be the only fish of size currently being caught in local waters, according to Morningstar Marina Gwynn’s Island general manager Tina Minor. "The flounder have avoided any hook," she said.
Minor reported the following speckled trout citations: Mark Clements of Gloucester with a 5 lbs., 13 oz. fish caught Saturday in the Severn River; Reid Walsh of Gloucester with a 5 lbs., 1 oz. fish caught Sunday in Fleets Bay and Arthur Rowe of Cobbs Creek with a 5 lbs., 3 oz. fish caught Friday in the East River.
