Residents receiving citations in the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament newly reported in the Sept. 24 issue of vasaltwaterjournal.com include the following:
Robert Gilbert Rowe of Gloucester, 6-pound, 3-ounce flounder, caught Sept. 14 at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel;
Bill Hudgins of Gloucester, a spearfish, caught and released Sept. 5 trolling at 100 Fathom;
Jonathan Dehoux of Mathews, white marlin, caught and released Sept. 4 while trolling Norfolk Canyon;
Edward M. Inge of Port Haywood and Aaron Inge of Mathews, also caught and released white marlin for citations on Sept. 4 at Norfolk Canyon;
Phillip Ashberry of Cobbs Creek, also caught and released a white marlin on Sept. 4 at Norfolk Canyon.
Rockfish season
The fall rockfish season opens at midnight Saturday and continues until midnight on Dec. 31. The Chesapeake Bay season has a limit of one fish, 19”-24”, a day....
