Christmas trees being recycled

Gloucester residents are encouraged to bring their Christmas trees to any convenience center in the county and place it in the appropriate bin for recycling, said Clean Community coordinator Lee Fuerst.

The holiday collection period, which began Dec. 27, continues through Jan. 31, 2016. Fuerst asked that all decorations be removed so that trees can be chipped into mulch.

Mulch is free to Gloucester residents, she said, and will be available at the Middle Peninsula Landfill and Recycling Center at Owl Trap. Call 693-5884 to check on the availability of mulch. ...
