Christmas Show this Saturday at MHS

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present its annual Smith Family and Friends Christmas Show on Saturday at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 o’clock.

The first half of the show will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers doing their favorite country and traditional Christmas songs. After a brief intermission, the Smith Family will present an original short story by Lynda Smith about embracing our differences. Children ranging in age from 3 to 14 will sing familiar Christmas tunes, like “Frosty the Snowman” and “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and show off their various talents on other instruments.

As always, the show will end with the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible and the family singing Christmas hymns.
