Michael Tiso, D.C., started working as the new chiropractor at Gloucester Chiropractic & Massage Therapy Center on Jan. 14.
Tiso works three days a week at the Gloucester office, located at Tyndall Square, Hayes, and owns a chiropractic business in Hampton.
Tiso has been a chiropractor for four years. He specializes in the Gonstead method, which stresses a safe technique for correcting misalignment of the spine.
Besides working on the spine, Tiso said, he can provide relief to arms, legs and joints. He uses his hands for most manipulations, but also utilizes electrical stimulation.
At Gloucester Chiropractic, he said, having an onsite x-ray machine makes it easier to more thoroughly identify a person’s problem. Each patient receives an individualized care plan, he said, and some people come for periodic adjustments even if they are no longer having regular back or other problems. Some come because of sports injuries, Tiso said.
