Child’s Blue Jacket lost, suitable reward for finder

120 YEARS AGOThursday, Jan. 11, 1906from the Mathews Journal The Sunday School of St. Paul’s M.E. Church was exceedingly kind and generous to their popular and efficient Superintendent, Mr. S.J. Foster, by presenting him as a Christmas present a pair of gold spectacles, an umbrella and a nice fountain pen. It is useless to say that the presents were both appreciated and deserved. Lost: On the road between Foster and Mathews Court House, a Child’s Blue Jacket. Finder will be suitably rewarded by leaving same at The Journal office. We were glad to see Capt. Walker whose store was burned last week has rented the post office building at Mobjack and is busy getting stock in order for business.
