Children’s indoor activity center opens at Ordinary

Kidsville, an indoor activity center for children, opened recently at 17 Plaza, Ordinary.

Owner/manager Richard Clayton of Gloucester, who has two young children himself, opened the business to provide a climate-controlled place where children could enjoy activities in all types of weather.

The 2,500-square-foot space is divided into several sections. A large area in front has play tables filled with lots of toy logs, gears and other items. Steps away are other play areas, each with a theme, such as a fire station, a market and a doctor’s office.

Children can dress up in costumes and enjoy a puppet stage. One room to the rear has an air hockey table and a basketball pop-a-shot. There is a private nursing area with a changing table. A second rear room accommodates birthday parties. Up to 20 children can attend a party, Clayton said, with parents or other chaperones present. A parent or guardian must stay with their children during play sessions.
