Charles Edgar Hogge, age 87, of Hayes, died at his home on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021. He retired from the County of Gloucester, Water Department. Mr. Hogge was an active member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles and the Men’s Bible Class; a member of Achilles Lodge No. 281 AF & AM, and Improved Order of Red Men, Sioux Tribe No. 9, Achilles. Parents, William Edgar Hogge and Sadie Thomas Hogge, preceded him in death. Survived by cousins, Jean H. Shackelford, William H. Hogge, Mary Alice Harris, Barbara H. Lewis and Alice Marie Hoadley (Douglas). A funeral service, conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, followed by burial in Gloucester Point Cemetery.
