Charity baseball tournament to be held Nov. 12-13

Play for Chauntea, a two-day charity baseball tournament, will be held on Nov. 12-13 to benefit a long-time Gloucester resident Chauntea Sheild, who is battling breast cancer.

The tournament, for 14U-16U teams, will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days at the Middlesex County Sports Complex, Locust Hill.

Sheild had breast cancer a few years ago; it had gone into remission before coming back recently, according to an event spokesperson. Funds raised will be used to help with her mounting medical bills and related expenses.

Cornhole tournaments will be going on throughout the two-day event, starting at noon, with the chance to win prizes. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, raffles for various goods and services provided by community businesses, as well as music, food and other activities.
