A large crowd of active-duty Coast Guard members, Auxiliarists, and family members gathered at U.S. Coast Guard Station Milford Haven in Mathews on May 30.
The event was held in acknowledgement of the 20th anniversary of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Memorial, which is located in front of Station Milford Haven. There are now 88 names on the memorial of auxiliarists that have died or “Crossed the Bar” and are remembered for their life of service to the Auxiliary.
The event was led by Amy Thomas, memorial administrator. The monument was originally conceived by the late Jerry S. Woo, who is recognized there. “We will always remember and honor our own,” Woo said at the inception of the memorial in 2005.
