Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, will hold its annual 4S event—Songs, Soups, Salads and Sweets—at 5 p.m. Sunday. The program will include musical selections from Tyrone Hudgins, Kathryn Diggs, Michele Thacker, Hunter Owens, Lynette Glockner, Merle Guy and John Lee Callis. It will also include a congregational sing-along. A free-will love offering will be taken to assist longtime Mathews resident David Arthur, who is recovering from a major cardiac event that has left him paralyzed from the waist down....
