Celtic folk music duo to perform at MHS

Kinnfolk, the husband-and-wife duo of Josh and Julie Kinn will perform Celtic folk music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. The appearance is arranged by Concerts by the Bay.
The show highlights Celtic folk music from the Blue Ridge Mountains, blending sea shanties and working songs as well as traditional tunes and old-time favorites with the couple’s original compositions. Woven in with octave mandolin and Irish drum, lyrics from their smooth vocal harmonies explore Appalachian lore.
Formed in 2018, Kinnfolk is based in Roanoke and has played at festivals and listening rooms across Canada and the United States. The couple won the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase in 2023, appeared on the main stage at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival in Canada, has been featured on the cover of Irish Music Magazine, and was named one of the top Celtic folk bands to watch in 2025 by The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.
