CCS swimmers dominate

The Christchurch School swim team, led by local talent, dominated the competition dubbed “The War on the Shore” at the Northern Neck YMCA in Kilmarnock on Dec. 10. Charli Miltenberger of Ware Neck is the girls’ team captain and Alex Fitzhugh of Hartfield is the boys’ team captain. Miltenberger placed second to teammate Teal Cola in the 200 freestyle and won the 100-freestyle event. Cola (Christchurch) won the 200 freestyle and was second in the 100 backstroke. Eleysia Downing (Lottsburg) won the 200 individual medley, and the 100 butterfly and was the girls’ high point winner. Downing, Cola and Miltenberger swam to first place in the 200-medley relay along with Katelyn Carnes (Hartfield) and Remi Fraiture (Potomac, Md.). Carnes also won the 100 breaststroke. Other local talent competing for the girls are Stella Mayhew (Irvington) and Avery Caisse (Hartfield).
