Canoe Jam held Saturday at Beaverdam

The 28th Beaverdam Canoe Jam was held on Saturday at the Beaverdam Park Reservoir, Gloucester.
The conditions were welcomed this race morning with only moderate humidity, cool temperatures, a slight breeze and a good lake level. Individual and paired canoe and kayak paddlers competed on the reservoir in the Long Course (four miles) and the Short Course (two miles).
Competitors and sponsors received T-shirts. Race Director Karla Havens thanked all the participants, volunteers and sponsors, and added that she hopes to see them support next year’s event, with special thanks to the park staff for their support prior to and during the event.
