Candy shop opens at White Marsh

The Sugar Saloon is a candy lover’s dream.

The new shop held its grand opening on Nov. 21 at White Marsh Village Shopping Center on Route 17, Gloucester. Josh Brown and Frank Busch of Gloucester own the store.

Lauren Murphy of Gloucester is the store manager. She previously managed a candy store in New Jersey.

Busch said he and Brown are longtime friends and have worked on several business ventures together in the past. Brown is a contractor and Busch runs a credit repair service. The 1,400-square-foot shop is filled with sweet treats. There are individual, bar and boxed candies made in the United States and other countries. There are additional boxed sets at this time of year for holiday gift-giving.

Also, Brown said they sell special candies for weddings and birthday parties. “If we don’t have it, we probably can order it for you,” Busch said.

A popular attraction on opening day was a wall filled with all 52 flavors of Jelly Belly jelly beans, Busch said....
