Cabaret for PeyPey, a fund-raising event for the family of a Ware Academy seventh grader who is undergoing treatment for leukemia, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Ware Academy gymnasium.
Theater is one of the passions of 12-year-old Peyton Arthur, a member of the Moose Family Players who has also participated in several Court House Players productions. A few months ago, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students/children (those 5 and under will be admitted free of charge). Friday’s program will include singing and dancing with local participants, both youth and adults.
The program will also include a silent auction with donations from local businesses such as The Silver Box, Vashti’s, Vera Lloyd, Smith’s Florist, Piankatank Golf Course, Gloucester Brewing Company and more. T-shirts will also be for sale, as well as concessions.
