As part of its observance of April’s National Business Month, Gloucester’s Epsilon Eta Chapter of the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., has recognized a local business owner for his contributions to the community.

D’Shawn Wright is the owner of Body by D, Gym and Fitness Center, with facilities in both Gloucester and York. He and his family also enjoy giving back to the community in a variety of ways. Last month, they partnered with Food Lion, their next-door neighbor in the York River Crossing shopping center, and Juan Carrillo of Juan’s Mexican Restaurant for a Random Act of Kindness event, buying and bagging groceries for a number of customers.

In July and August, Body by D will once again partner with other local businesses to co-sponsor a favorite Back to School charitable event, distributing needed school supplies to local students.
