Lynne Davenport, owner of Richardson’s Café, was presented with the 2025 Virginia School Boards Association Business Honor Roll certificate during the May 20 meeting of the Mathews County School Board. A popular dining spot in Mathews Court House, Richardson’s often hosts fundraisers for various school groups and has provided meals at no cost to school board members when they have held work sessions, among other acts of school spirit. “Your generosity has aided this community in focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them,” states the resolution, which was approved by the school board in March.
