Business Development Caucus develops legislative agenda

Following completion of its 2014 summer series of Business Town Hall meetings, including an August event in Yorktown, members of the General Assembly’s Business Development Caucus met in Richmond on Oct. 6 to review more than 70 recommendations received from Virginia businesses for the 2015 legislative session. By the end of the day members had narrowed their focus to 17.   
This is the third year that the bipartisan group has visited localities to meet with business leaders, asking their ideas for improving Virginia’s business climate. In addition to meeting with Yorktown and Gloucester businesses, its 2014 summer series of Business Town Hall meetings included venues in Virginia Beach, Christiansburg, Martinsville and Chantilly and were attended by representatives of 165 businesses of varying size.
