Brief delays expected next week on Norris Bridge

Beginning Monday and continuing through Friday, Aug. 6, Route 3 travelers can expect brief, daytime delays crossing the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River between Middlesex and Lancaster counties.
Each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., traffic will be reduced to a single lane as the Virginia Department of Transportation and its contractor will be identifying locations for future, spot structural steel repairs on the bridge as part of routine maintenance, VDOT announced.
Lane closures have been scheduled weather permitting. Message boards are posted at both bridge approaches to alert travelers. Traffic was also reduced to a single lane on Tuesday as Dominion Energy completed final activities associated with the removal of utility equipment from the bridge.
