The Botetourt Elementary School PTA and Gloucester Main Street Association are teaming up to help Botetourt students and their families kick off the holiday season from 2 to 4 p.m. this Sunday.
This event is part of the larger Gloucester Main Street Open House, which is from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and open to the public. Highlights for everyone include carriage rides, blacksmith demonstrations at the Village Blacksmith, and discounts and specials at participating stores.
Botetourt students will participate in some extra activities and rewards being offered by the Main Street businesses. Complimentary “thank you” services are being provided to the Botetourt teachers by Split Enz Salon and Heart Felt Touch Massage Therapy as well.
“Our goal is to strengthen relationships between the Botetourt family and our neighboring businesses and restaurants,” said Botetourt principal Tish Hudgins.
“We hope to show Botetourt families all that Main Street has to offer, and to show Main Street the sweet faces—and spending power—of Botetourt families,” said MSA’s executive director Ashley Gilmartin. “Our hope is that we will find more ways to help and support each other going forward.”
Participating businesses include Angelwing Stationers (open Saturday this weekend only), Field’s Quilting & Craft, Gloucester Arts on Main, Heart Felt Touch Massage Therapy, Kelsick Specialty Market, Sanders Retirement Village, Split Enz Salon, Smith’s Florist & Gift Shop, The Nines Pet Boutique, The Silver Box, Twice is Nice, Up South, Village Blacksmith, Wilton Cottage & Garden, and Yolanda’s.
Participating restaurants include Courthouse Restaurant, Good Life Kitchen, Olivia’s in the Village, Lulu Birds Kitchen, and Sweet Tooth Café & Bakery.
