The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will discuss potential American Rescue Plan Act funding requests when it meets Tuesday. The meeting will be held in the colonial courthouse, beginning at 7 p.m.
During its Sept. 14 work session, the board allocated an unspecified amount of ARPA funds to pay for the installation of countywide broadband. The board then agreed to hold all funding requests until the exact number is known. Deputy County Administrator Carol Steele said that she would have that figure for the board in time for next week’s meeting.
Supervisors will also vote on an ordinance to amend the penalty for violation of golf cart use. The board recently voted to allow the street use of golf carts within the Dunston Hall subdivision, where the changing of the penalty was discussed. Currently the penalty for unlawful golf cart use is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
There will be a request for a public hearing made to the board to consider an ordinance to amend Gloucester County Code to update land use provisions in accordance with state code.
Two presentations will also be made during the meeting. The first is from the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board and the second will be from the Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance for membership consideration.
