Board meeting on Tuesday to be fully virtual

The November Mathews County Board of Supervisors meeting, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mathews High School, will now be fully virtual via the Zoom platform. It will be available for public viewing on the county's meeting portal: www.mathewscountyva.gov/355/Meeting-Portal and Facebook page: Mathews County, Virginia.

According to a press release from the county administrator's office, the change is in response to new COVID-19 restrictions announced on Thursday by Governor Ralph Northam. Among other provisions, the new restrictions reduce both indoor capacity and outdoor gatherings to 25 people, down from the current limit of 250. They go into effect on Sunday. Those wishing to give public comment at the meeting may submit their comments in writing to https://www.mathewscountyva.gov/219/Submit-Public-Comment-to-the-Board- of-Su. The comments will be submitted to the board and made part of the official public record.
