Members of the Middle Peninsula Bird Club and the Middle Peninsula Master Naturalist Chapter visited Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in Gloucester on April 16 to conduct a bird and wildlife survey for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. The group identified 31 bird species and counted 185 individual birds. In addition, seven species of butterflies and three species of reptiles were identified. The highlight was seeing over 100 Cedar Waxwings in small flocks and in the trees. This survey is conducted quarterly and the results are submitted to eBird.org and iNaturalist.org.
