B&G Club nets $11,000 from flounder tourney

The 13th annual Gloucester Boys and Girls Club Flounder Fishing Tournament held on July 11 from Crown Pointe Marina, Hayes, raised more than $17,000 for the organization. After paying winnings, the tournament gave approximately $11,000 back to the club.
The total cash purse was $7,200 plus other prizes totaling nearly $1,000, according to tournament spokesperson Chuck Ashe.
Steven Hodges and crew sponsored by Dare Marina won first place with a total of three fish weighing 18.77 pounds. Thomas Hall won for youth angler and Jennifer Hall won for Lady Angler.
Ashe said that the event is made possible by support of its sponsors, local businesses and volunteers. ...
