BETH L. KLOKE

Beth L. Kloke of Hallieford, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 5, 2019. She was 82.  

Beth was born August 28, 1936, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Robert and Lutie (Grinnell) Richards. She grew up in Tiverton, Rhode Island, until the age of  12 when her family moved to Miami, Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; six children, Patty (Dan) Cummings, Catherine Zych, John (Pat) Kloke, Carolyn (Craig) Spurlock, Jim (Denise) Kloke, and Karen (Keith) Ballard; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bob (Nina) Richards, and nephew, Raymond Richards.  

She was predeceased by her parents, and grandsons, Nic Lanken and Keith Ballard Jr.

Beth, along with her husband, was the co-founder of The Kloke Group, a moving and storage company located in Richmond. She and Jack enjoyed a varied and storied life learning the moving business from the ground up, buying a farm in Louisa, raising black angus cattle, and buying and renovating several old homes over the years.  

She enjoyed sailing, skiing, traveling and, of course, meeting new people. Beth never met a stranger and made everyone feel warm, welcome and loved.

She and her husband moved to Hallieford in 2008 where she was active in the community, including the P.E.O Chapter BT (Mathews), and became an ardent supporter and contributor to the Mathews YMCA, among other philanthropic endeavors.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on Williams Wharf Road in Mathews, on June 1 at 11 a.m. There will be a reception immediately following at the Kingston Parish House. She will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date (please visit the Foster-Faulkner website at www.faulknerfuneralhcs.com for more details as they become available).
