Terry Wrenn is the president of Best Pools on George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown. She established the family-owned business in 1985, remaining in the same location for over three decades.

Best Pools sells, services, and installs above-ground pools as well as offering pool and spa chemicals, parts and accessories, and free water-testing in an onsite retail store.

Wrenn said her company installs only top-grade pools and uses and sells only quality equipment. She said she is committed to maintaining complete control of both the construction and service aspects of the business, so she doesn’t use subcontractors. Key personnel have been with the company since the beginning, she said, “giving us the most combined experience in the pool industry.”

A Newport News native, Wrenn studied business administration in college. She said her son, Chris Wrenn, will carry on the business if and when she decides to retire.
