BERNICE WILLIAMS HALL

Bernice Williams Hall, 88, of Gloucester Point, a lifelong resident of Gloucester, passed away Thursday, the 22nd of October, 2015 at York Convalescent Center.

She graduated from Achilles High School and was retired from Civilian Personnel at Ft. Eustis after 22 years. She and her late husband John for many years operated Hall Printing Company.

Bernice was a member of Union Baptist Church. She had been a very active member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as the Most Worthy Grand Matron.

Bernice truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, traveling, going out with friends and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice was most patriotic and always dressed for the occasion. She was always a very elegant lady, well dressed and with a beautiful smile on her face. Bernice will be remembered for her kindness and compassion, and her loving and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hazel Williams, and husband, John R. Hall Sr.

She is survived by her children, Michael Hall and wife Cindy, John Hall Jr. and wife Jo Ann, Wayne Hall and wife Debbie, Gwen Massey and husband Onnie, and Ted Hall; sister, Marian West; brother, Sonny Williams; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at York Convalescent Center for the wonderful care and support given to our mother during her time there.
