Auditions coming up for ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’

Auditions for the musical “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Ware Episcopal Church Parish House, 7825 John Clayton Memorial Highway, Gloucester.

Produced by the Court House Players, the comedy is about two con men trying to swindle rich women on the French Riviera. It’s based on the 1988 film, but the language is more community-friendly, and the production includes a jazzy score by David Yazbek.

Men and women of various ages and vocal ranges are needed. Those auditioning should prepare a song and bring a karaoke CD or sheet music for accompaniment. No a cappella auditions will be permitted. There will also be a dance audition, with the choreographer leading participants through simple steps in a group setting. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

Performances will be held Nov. 8-11 at Mathews High School. For more information, call director Amanda Adams at 804-654-9765. ...
