Athletic accomplishments

Ware Academy’s fall athletic season ended with two championships—one in volleyball and one in golf. Student-athletes were recognized at a banquet last week. Callie Penick, Brady Vaughn and Fenton Scott were recognized as MVPs of varsity volleyball, soccer and golf, respectively. Penick has played on championship-winning teams each year of her participation and was selected as co-captain for the second year in a row. Vaughn led the soccer team in scoring this season and served as co-captain. Scott placed first in the Independent School Athletic Conference Golf Tournament this season and was captain of the team. Mia Paton received Coach’s Award for varsity volleyball and Henry Fleet was also selected for the award for golf and soccer. Bentlea Lawrence (volleyball), Noah Chambers (soccer) and Brandon Hubbard (golf) received awards for Most Improved. Pictured, from left, are athletes Vaughn, Scott and Penick.
