Last Wednesday’s Abingdon Ruritan Club 35th Fall Seafood Festival in Bena was a sold-out event. Organizers said the food was great, the band was fun, the atmosphere festive as a large crowd gathered on a lovely fall afternoon. At left, identical 31-year-old twins, Mary Scott Fletcher and Connelly Vogler, from left, have been attending the Seafood Festival for three decades. They were raised in Guinea and return often to see their parents, Scott and Laurie Hardaway. This year, the young women brought their sons with them to keep the family tradition going. In the photo, Mary Scott, from Richmond, is holding William, and Connelly, now living in Charleston, S.C., holds Caswell. They had three generations together at the festival.
