The Mathews County Board of Supervisors recognized the week of April 14-20 as Animal Control Appreciation Week and acknowledged appreciation of the county’s animal control officers during the board’s April 18 meeting. The officers were commended for their outstanding service and the long hours they dedicate to their work, as well as for putting “their lives in harm’s way to protect the citizens of Mathews County.”
