Andrews elected president of Funeral Directors Association

Jerry Andrews, owner of Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was recently elected as president of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association. The honor came 28 years after his father, the late Jack Andrews, was elected to serve the same role.

“It was a great honor for me to be elected by my peers to this position and to know that I have followed in my dad’s footsteps,” he said. “That made it even better.”

As association president, Andrews will represent the organization at the national convention of funeral home directors. He will also be visiting each of the seven districts in Virginia to hear what concerns other funeral directors have, and to get their input on various challenges, especially on the legislative level.
